Waldersey is pleased to be participating in the Sustainable Farming Incentive trialling the new standards aimed at improving soil health.

Soil conservation is core to Waldersey on the unique Fenland soils and one of the main focuses of Walderseys Soil, Infrastructure & Sustainability Group which continually reviews the range of cropping, maintaining and improving fertility, technology and data.

The Sustainable Farming Incentive is the first steppingstone towards the national rollout of the Environmental Land Management (ELM) scheme.

Participating in the pilot enables Defra to work with farming businesses to develop a scheme which works best.

The main objectives of the Sustainable Farming Incentive are:

Maintaining and enhancing the natural environment

Reducing carbon emissions

Improving the health and welfare of farmed animals
